Long-time fan and collector Michael M. sends us a photo from the new Hallmark Keepsake 2009 catalog. Seems Indy will be hanging from our Christmas trees this year as well. And we're always in favor of anything 'idol' related!

T
his book is amazing!! 'The Greatest Adventures of Indiana Jones' is published only in Europe. This hardcover is choked full of treasures to uncover. Note the before-and-after photos. Every page has hidden flaps, slots, envelopes with maps etc that reveal cool info!! Like a pop-up book except you have to find the hidden stuff. Published by Harper Collins in UK (English) and there is also a French version.

Karen Allen was kind enough to sign and return our three photos we had sent to her. Visit the autograph page to view them all. And a reminder to always be careful when purchasing autographs as there are many fakes for sale.

Eric Tan has released the image of his newest lithograph (available soon from Acme Archives) and has this to say -

"With the Crusade poster, I also tried to keep the series consistent with a lot of the same criteria I used in the first couple of posters. Among them include the limited color scheme, the big head at the top right, the chase scene on the bottom right, the logo down below, the filmed in color banner, and a background silhouette of one of the key settings. I wanted to play up the love connection between the Joneses and Elsa because it plays an important part of the plot so Indy and Elsa are almost equal in scale and you can also make a visual "triangle" between the three characters. Because it's my favorite on the Indy series of films, I really wanted to get as much as I could into this one. The story is dense and so is this poster in comparison to the previous two. I certainly hope you guys dig it!"

Today we discovered the existence of popcorn bowls that were created by the company responsible for Orville Redenbacher and Act II popcorn brands. It is uncertain as to whether these were for internal use only or whether it was to be part of the promotion for the DVD release of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (and was scrapped early on). Each is about 9" in diameter and dishwasher-safe plastic.

Dark Horse Comics has released the artwork for their contribution to FCBD (Free Comic Book Day) which is May 2nd. Note the Indiana Jones figure above the word 'comic' - there is a short Indy story contained within this treasure!

This image is the back cover to the Star Wars - Clone Wars issue. So be on the lookout for the front cover and then flip over to make sure it has this image.

It's always fun to look and see what might have been. Pictured here is a scale replica model for the proposed walk-through arch display for the DVD release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was commisioned for Wal-Mart -- and then they changed their mind as to how much floor space they wanted to devote to the release. So it was scrapped.

The model stands approx. 36 inches in height and approx. 24 inches square at the base. It now makes it home at the Ravenwood museum.
