Do you crave
adventure? Do you hate snakes? Do you live in Austin? Check
out the Indiana Jones Trilogy Feast menu!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint
here with a little heads up for all you Austin-area foodie cinephiles.
I've heard much about the Alamo's feasts, where you get treated
like a king for X amount of hours as a particular film runs.
I haven't attended one, if you don't count their awesome Spaghetti
Western spaghetti feasts they used to run where you'd get unlimited
spaghetti for the length of some awesome Sergio Leone western,
but I plan on attending this one.
The complete
Indiana Jones Trilogy (according to the website it's the complete
trilogy that they thankfully never ruined with a fourth, lesser
entry), complete with themed meals including (and I'm not @#!$
you) slow-cooked Snake Curry. There's even a threat of a side
dish containing beetles.
Don't worry,
they have real, edible food, too. Like roasted Bass, lamb, pearl
onion soup (eyeball soup) and pork cutlet.
Here's
the Alamo site
where you can buy tickets.
It's a
bit pricey, but you get a 6 course meal over the run of three
of the best adventure films ever made. There's an option for
wine and cocktails that'll run you an extra $25 as well.
If you
listen to the Slashfilm
Podcast I recently guested on it and went off the rails
about my love of Temple of Doom. Any chance to see Temple on
the big screen is something I'll jump at.
So, April
11th I'll be at the Alamo Ritz all day eating richey-rich food,
sipping some wine and giving my eyeballs a nice massage courtesy
of Dr. Jones, Steven Spielberg and the awesome folks at the
Alamo. What about you?
