BERLIN (Reuters) - Harrison Ford is ready to jump back into his favorite film role and begin shooting the fourth Indiana Jones movie soon, a German magazine quoted the Hollywood actor as saying on Wednesday.

" Steven Spielberg and I now have a script in hand that we both like. I believe that we can start with the filming soon," Ford was quoted as saying in an interview with German lifestyle and entertainment magazine Fit for Fun.

The third and last Indy film, 1989 hit "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," starred Ford as the whip-swinging archaeologist and Sean Connery as his bumbling father.

Ford, 63, was quoted as saying that he needed "to do a little practicing with the whip" to avoid injuries.

Fox News spoke with Steven Spielberg at the Governor's Ball last night and says the director revealed he is taking a year off after having produced and directed both "War of the Worlds" and "Munich".

His plans for 2006 will be preparing his Abraham Lincoln biopic along with producing several smaller projects.

Spielberg said he will still direct "Indiana Jones 4" but this would indicate it'll be a while off yet. Spielberg confirmed his "Jurassic Park" & "War of the Worlds" scribe David Koepp is working on the latest draft.

Thanks to Dark Horizons for the story.

MovieWeb spoke with the head of Lucasfilm fan relations, Steve Sansweet, in an exclusive interview where they talked about the upcoming Star Wars television show. Steve also had a few things to say about Indiana Jones 4 as well -

MovieWeb: Indiana Jones?

Steve Sansweet: We're all hoping. We have our fingers crossed. There's a script that's been done. We just need to get the buy-off of three very independent men: Harrison Ford, Steven Speilberg and George Lucas. And were all hoping that there is an agreement and that we can go ahead and film Indy 4 sometime this year, late this year.

MovieWeb: Any details you can give up?

Steve Sansweet: George knows, Harrison knows and Steven knows, and they are keeping a very closed mouth about it. I don't know, that's for sure!

Check out the full interview with Mr. Sansweet at MovieWeb.
